Default Farming questions

I'm sorry if i am an ignorant, and i didn't know where to post this thread, but it has to do with farming.

1: I know this has been discussed before, but i can't find the threads; If i use henchmen to make my way to a boss, but then i send my henchies away and solo the boss, do the drop rates stay the same?

2: does anybody know where rubies and sapphires drop from, and where the can be farmed?

#1: As long as you flag your henchies away so that their names are grayed out, the boss drop will act like you are soloing it.

#2: Rubies/Sapphires are random drops, but they can be salvaged from Ruby/Sapphire Djinn Essences

Hope that helped.
